Spring Fire Safety Tips

KEEP GASOLINE STORED OUTSIDE in a shed or detached garage. Store only small
quantities, and only use an approved container.
NEVER USE gasoline as a cleaning agent.
ALWAYS STORE PAINT and other flammable materials in their original, labeled containers
with tight-fitting lids. Keep them at least 18 inches away from appliances, heaters, pilot lights, etc.
NEVER USE barbecue grills inside. Always use them in a safe area away from buildings,
windows, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning units. Avoid areas with high and/or dead
vegetation.
NEVER USE gasoline to light a charcoal barbecue. Use only approved lighter fluid, and do not
add fluid once the fire has started.
INSPECT propane tanks and hoses for leaks and cracks.
ALWAYS store propane tanks outside.
